Week 7: Insulation & Interior Linings

The insulation is in with r4 fitted to the walls and r5 to the ceilings. It's no surprise that Space Craft NZ delivers way above the building code requirement of r 2.5 and r 3.5 respectively.

With all the insulation and the plumbing and electrical first fix complete, it's time for the interior linings.

We use a mixture of Gib board, plywood and Hardies villaboard. The ply is great for garages and gives a durable and attractive finish. Villaboard is used for walls in wet areas that are to be tiled. It is made from fibre cement and is strong and moisture resistant.

Once the linings are complete the gib stoppers come in.
